Judge confirms right to payment after unfounded dispute

A client contacted us after his cooperation agreement was abruptly terminated and his last invoice of almost EUR 8,000 (excluding VAT) remained unpaid. The client suddenly claimed mistakes had been made, and used that as a reason for not paying.

We sent a formal notice of default, but received no response. In consultation with our client, we decided to seize the competent court in Brussels. The court followed us in its analysis: the performance was undisputed, and there was no evidence of errors. According to the court, the invoice was not disputable.

Our client was awarded full payment, with late payment interest at the rate of 12.5% on top. Thanks to a brisk but reasoned approach, justice was obtained without further delay. The client did not appeal.
